Install fireproofing to prevent or delay the failure of structures exposed to fire.
Leading Edge Insulation Services installs fireproofing insulation to help guard against a loss of structural integrity during a fire. Our products are designed to meet the requirements of all types of structural steel and concrete commercial structures, and our professionals are properly trained in their use of installation equipment, water ratios and proper hose distance.
CAFCO® BLAZE-SHIELD® II
We use CAFCO® BLAZE-SHIELD® II – the industry leader in commercial density Dry Mix Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM) – for structural steel projects. Some of the benefits of this fireproofing product include:
- Inorganic composition (Portland cement based)
- Environmentally friendly materials (67% pre-consumer recycled)
- Superior fire resistance
- Excellent thermal and acoustical insulation properties
- Durability against the elements during construction
In fact, it is the only product that is classified as “investigated for exterior use” by Underwriters Laboratories, making it impenetrable to severe weather conditions that may occur during the construction process.
We use a dry spray application to apply fireproofing to door assemblies, beams, joists, columns, roof assemblies and walls/partitions. Mechanical reinforcement, a primer, or adhesive may or may not be necessary depending on the structure. The jobsite must maintain a minimum substrate and ambient temperature of 40°F (4°C) before, during, and for 24 hours after the installation.
